Lillian Gish

Inducted: Legacy February – Day 3

Born in Springfield, Ohio, Lillian Gish was one of the founding stars of American cinema.

Often called “The First Lady of the Silent Screen,” she starred in classics such as The Birth of a Nation and Broken Blossoms. Her expressive acting set standards still studied today.

Gish later transitioned successfully into sound films and stage productions.

Her career helped shape Hollywood itself.
